From the islam’s first days, intersexuality has been embraced. In 1988, transgenders were finally acknowledged by Al-Azhar, an Egyptian primary Islamic institution that is followed by muslims all over the world. Also the Egyptian government followed and today it is acceptable to undergo the reassignment operation.
 

However regardless of the history, Islam openness to the transition and tolerance, transgenders still need to hide and they are facing  the discrimination that comes from culture and individuals.
