Still Me                                                        2016 - Ongoing                                                مازلت أنا

Still Me is a long-term personal visual project about the “hijab” - the headscarf. It exposes how societies pressure and control millions of Muslim women, as the decision to wear a scarf (or not) has become politicised and used as a basis for discrimination.

It explores this journey through photography, drawing and the inclusion of found objects, as hair. It also features documen- tation of a series of public interventions designed to explore the reaction to the hijab.
