Where I Sleep 2016-ongoing نمت هنا
Where I Sleep is an ongoing portrait series of places documenting the temporary spaces I inhabit while travelling. Anonymous hotel rooms, borrowed beds, sofas, tents, and unfamiliar corners become silent witnesses to moments of rest between stories. Every room holds a story before I arrive and continues to hold it after I leave. For one night, I become part of it.
Collected over more than a decade, these photographs form a portrait of a life lived in transit. Each place has its own personality, revealing something about the people who inhabit it—their habits, tastes, culture, and ways of living.
Together, these temporary spaces become more than places to spend the night; they become portraits of encounters, carrying the memories of everyone who has passed through them—including my own.
Where I Sleep is a meditation on hospitality, impermanence, and the relationship between people and the spaces they inhabit. shifting travel from an act of observation into an experience of being welcomed—whether by a friend, a stranger, a hotel owner, or a host family. It's about where I was welcomed and received not where I went.
