Our first migration is from the mother's womb to the outside world. The mother's womb is the first dwelling that contains our bodies, a home, safety and containment. So what happens when the "woman" migrates?This portrait series, created in collaboration with the ICRC and an art therapist, invites refugee women in Egypt to draw their former homes in their hometowns alongside their new homes in Egypt. It highlights their struggles and the ongoing efforts they make to support their families amid uncertain conditions.
